to go cruising with up to six guests

NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla., July 8, 2010 –

Fortuitous, a Hunter Passage 42 sloop known for its sailing performance and spacious style, has joined the Southwest Florida Yachts charter fleet. Fortuitous accommodates up to six guests for exploring the pristine gulf and bay waters from Punta Gorda to Captiva Island.

Barb Hansen of Southwest Florida Yachts said Fortuitous is located with the SWFY charter fleet at Burnt Store Marina in Punta Gorda, which provides quick, calm and deep water access to open water sailing on Charlotte Harbor, the Gulf of Mexico, and well-known ports-of-call like Gasparilla, Useppa, Sanibel, Captiva and Pine Island Sound.

Fortuitous accommodates six overnight guess with double berths in the forward cabin, the aft cabin, and the main salon. It has two electric heads with holding tank and two showers. The air-conditioned interior (headroom is 6’5”) is finished in teak and holly. Amenities include AM/FM stereo with CD player and cockpit speakers. It has two TV sets with VCR or DVD capability.

The galley is equipped with a refrigerator with freezer, three-burner Hillerange compressed natural gas stove and oven and a microwave oven. It has a hot and cold pressure water system. On deck, Fortuitous has a very popular BBQ grill

For marina maneuvering and channel motoring Fortuitous is equipped with a 62-hp Yanmar inboard diesel engine. The skipper enjoys wheel steering in the cockpit and a host of navigation/plotting equipment including Radar, GPS, wind instruments, speed/distance log, emergency tiller, autopilot, two depth sounders, charts, cruising guides, and plotting tools.

Fortuitous is one of six vessels in the company's sail fleet at Burnt Store Marina. The charter firm’s 11-vessel power yacht fleet is based at Marinatown Marina in N. Fort Myers, where offices are located.

Extra Cruising Days

Foruitous typically charters for only $2,359 for five days in the summer and $2,946 in the high season. As part of the company's 25th anniversary celebration, charters of three days or more receive two extra chartering days, free, through December 14.

Southwest Florida consistently ranks as one of the best sailing and cruising areas in the world. The visitor-oriented barrier islands of Sanibel and Captiva score as the best islands to visit for their ambiance, beaches, friendliness, restaurants and scenery.
